Mechanical Profiling vs. Acid Washing
Acid washing is a common shortcut used to avoid the expense of renting or buying heavy diamond grinding equipment. However, acid washing cannot remove sealers, curing compounds, or heavy oils, and it often fails to profile hard-troweled concrete. Furthermore, if not thoroughly neutralized and dried, it leaves acid salts behind and traps moisture in the slab, leading to rapid coating failure. We mechanically profile 100% of our floors to ensure an unbreakable bond.
